Peter Frampton was born on 22 April 1950 in Beckenham, England, and brought up here with his parents and brother Clive Frampton. Peter Frampton got his early education from Bromley Technical High School. He had an interest in music when he was just seven. He discovered his grandmother’s banjolele in the attic. His early influences came from Eddie Cochran, Cliff Richard, and Letter the Ventures and the Beatles. Peter Frampton was introduced to the recordings of Belgian gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt by his father.


Peter Frampton was part of a band called the Little Ravens when he was 12 years old. Peter and David Bowie were students at Bromley Technical School, where Frampton’s father was an art teacher.
